Our Facilities

Merrimac Tool Co., Inc comes from humble beginnings. Initially operated from a garage with only a Bridgeport® and a belt-driven South Bend® Lathe in 1989, our machining business quickly grew and gained acclaim. This allowed us to move to a larger facility only a year later, in 1990.

Clearing Hurdles

In 1996, 14 inches of rain fell directly over our location during a 12-hour period. Our building was flooded when a beaver dam collapsed in the culvert behind the building, causing three feet of water to flow in. Despite this setback, we were only closed for four days while 40 electric motors were rebuilt to keep our shop running.

Current Facility

Our current facility in Amesbury, Massachusetts, was purchased from one of our oldest customers, Labels, Inc. in 2001. Originally a dry cleaner in the early 1900s, Labels, Inc. purchased the property in 1977 and made multiple additions before outgrowing the facility. Situated on the banks of the PowWow River with views of Lake Gardner, the 18,000-square-foot building houses our company and four others, and is updated with new heating, air conditioning, electrical, and safety systems with cutting-edge security and sprinklers.
